Q&A

Q1: What is gel paint for nails?
A: Gel paint is a highly pigmented, soak-off gel formula for art and full-coverage color. It applies smoothly, cures vibrant, and removes cleanly—designed for serious artists, not basic polish.

Q2: Is gel paint better than gel polish?
A: For art, yes. Gel paint has denser pigment, no streaks, and no separation—gives you paint-level control with gel-level durability.

Q3: How many layers of gel paint do you need?
A: Usually just one. With rich pigments and full coverage, you get bold color in a single stroke—saving product and salon time.

Q4: How do you prevent gel paint from separating?
A: Use regularly. These self-stable gel paints don’t separate, even with heavy pigment. No stirring, no waste—just consistent performance.

Q5: Can you soak off gel paint?
A: Yes. These gel paints are soak-off friendly. File the shine, wrap in acetone, wait 10–15 minutes, and the paint slides off easily—no drilling needed.

Q6: Are gel paints long-lasting?
A: Absolutely. Designed to resist chipping, maintain color vibrancy, and never fade—these paints last until removed, no fluff or compromises.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

AVOID SKIN CONTACT

  1. Load the Brush:
Dip your desired thin detail brush into the selected gel paint decanted on top of your pallet. Remove any excess product to achieve a fine point for precise application. To remove excess product, pull your brush out from the paint while twisting it between your fingers in a revolving motion.  This loads your brush properly and gets rid of excess product all in one motion.
  2. Create Nail Art Designs:
Line Work: Use the thin brush to create delicate lines. Practice steady hands for detail work such as stripes, swirls, or freehand designs.
Floral Patterns: Use a dotting tool or the brush to create petal shapes, starting from a central point and spreading outward.
Geometric Shapes: Carefully paint triangles, squares, or other shapes using clean lines. Use tape for straight lines if desired.
Abstract Art: Let your creativity flow! Use varied brush strokes and layering techniques to create unique designs.
  3. Use as Gel Polish:  Load the brush with  top coat, then wipe it back and forth across your palette to ensure all bristles are fully coated. This technique allows the gel paints to go on smoothly like gel polish, minimizing streaking. You only need to prime the brush once for each color you use!
  4. Curing:
Cure each layer under for 60 seconds in the Arch Rival Nail Lamp. Cure for 60 seconds.
  5. Top Coat Application:
Once your nail art is fully cured, finish with an Arch Rival Top to seal in the design and add shine. Apply the top coat as you would regularly, ensuring to cover the entire nail. Cure again under the lamp for 60 seconds.

Always ensure, regardless of the product or brand used, to wash hands with soap and water at the end of a service and cleanse nail plate with alcohol and a lint free pad until it squeaks. You’ll find that a textured, lint free pad, cleans the nail faster.
