The Ultimate Retention System
Stop lifting before it starts. This multi-phase, HEMA-free MEK-free primer system fuses acid and non-acid chemistry to anchor every gel layer with unmatched grip. Delivers consistent, professional adhesion that outperforms protein-style bonders where it counts: real wear, real nails, real clients.
Avoid Skin Contact
*Keep away from children: Acid primer is corrosive to skin and will burn on contact* We recommend this product for professional use.*
Krystal Primer Pro Pack is a complete chemical adhesion system that locks enhancements in place with no guesswork, no weak links, and no wasted steps. Unlike traditional systems that rely on mechanical filing to create grip, this system creates micro texture on the nail plate creating a seamless bond without unnecessary damage. Instead of thinning the natural nail, it adheres at a molecular level, preserving strength while delivering adhesion that doesn’t let go.
Base coats are already formulated with extra monomer (HEMA, etc.) to ensure adhesion to the nail plate.
Adding a protein-style bonder (HEMA or MEK) increases the total monomer load on the nail.
If you add more monomer than the photo initiator system can cure, you end up with unreacted monomer left behind.
This increases the risk of uncured chemicals remaining on the nail or skin, which can lead to sensitivity, allergy, or product breakdown.
Some systems may be chemically balanced to work with their own primer/base combination, but most techs mix brands, so the chemistry may not match.
Using extra monomer-rich primers with monomer-rich base coats is unnecessary and potentially damaging.
MEK (Methyl Ethyl Ketone) is a strong solvent and adhesion promoter used in some protein-style nail bonders. It is a known skin and respiratory irritant, flagged by cosmetic safety regulators as a sensitizer. Overuse can increase the risk of irritation and is not required in modern copolymer-based primer systems.
Our system avoids this by using balanced copolymer adhesives, not excess free monomer. In a HEMA and MEK free formula.
Most dehydrators remove moisture. Prep locks it out. Engineered with a specialized additive that actively repels water, it prevents moisture from creeping back in before the next step. This means no hidden reabsorption, no interference, and no weak spots, just a clean, stable foundation for chemical adhesion to take hold.
Micro-etching without the damage. Instead of relying on excessive filing, Salt uses high-purity glacial methacrylic acid to safely micro-etch the nail plate, creating the ideal surface for adhesion. This isn’t just a temporary grip, it’s a controlled hydrogen bond that enhances retention while keeping the nail’s integrity intact. Standard primers often break down over time or cause yellowing due to oxidation. Salt doesn’t. Its formula is stabilized with Vitamin E, an antioxidant that protects against oxidation and helps prevent discoloration, ensuring long-term adhesion strength without unwanted side effects.
Once Salt has prepped the surface, Optima interlocks into the etched nail plate, creating a polymerized foundation that resists lifting, breakdown, and separation. Instead of just sticking to the surface, it forms covalent bonds with the enhancement, chemically linking the layers together for maximum retention. This integration into the adhesion system ensures long-term durability under real-world wear.
Base Plus fuses every layer together, locking enhancements in place for up to 12 weeks with an adhesion barrier that refuses to break down. Engineered to repel moisture long-term, it prevents lifting caused by humidity, oils, and daily wear. Its self-leveling formula grips both the natural nail and enhancement, ensuring a seamless, unshakable bond. It flexes naturally, offering lasting comfort with every movement while holding its strength through impact and wear.
Our best-selling base isn’t just strong, it’s the reason techs stop searching for something better.
With the Kyrstal Primer Pro Pack , you’re not just buying products, you’re investing in a retention system that delivers results, every time.
Q: What does a nail primer do
A: Nail primer makes the natural nail chemically compatible with gel or acrylic products. It bonds to the keratin in your nail and then creates a link with your enhancement, allowing for maximum adhesion and stopping lifting.
Q: What is the difference between acid primer and acid free primer
A: Acid primer uses methacrylic acid for maximum adhesion and is best for clients with lifting issues. It does not damage the nail but can cause skin burns if it touches the skin. Acid free primer is less harsh on the skin but may not bond as strong in tough cases.
Q: Do I need both acid and UV primer
A: Using both gives the strongest and most reliable bond. Acid primer anchors to the nail. UV primer bonds to the base coat. Use both for maximum hold or just one if you want a lighter bond.
Q: Is acid primer safe for natural nails?
A: A: Acid primer is safe for natural nails when applied correctly. Use a small amount, keep it off the skin, and allow it to air dry. Acid primer creates a strong bond without damaging the nail plate if used as directed. Over-filing does more harm than acid primer. Follow professional protocols for best results.
